The build was predominantly prepared with locally sourced materials including exposed concrete, timber cladded exterior, oak linings and stainless steel window linings.
Shaker & May kitchens wanted to document the completion of their newly built kitchen located within the The Long House, Somerset. The kitchen was a dream project for Pete as it had everything that inspires him as a photographer.
The build had recently been completed by Neil Choudhury Architects and is a two tiered contemporary home overlooking a pond, mill and landscaped garden by James Alexander Sinclair.
All rooms face out towards the garden with the most impressive being the heart of the home, the kitchen. Fitted with all the mod-cons, stainless steel worktops and splashbacks, refined wax oak cabinets and tiled flooring, the space was a dream to shoot.
A raised pitched roof towering above the large kitchen island offers a hidden study and plenty of light. Through the large blackened steel window frames, the room was bright and calm, enabling it to be shot using the natural light available with a selection of tilt-shifts lenses.
