Mayfair Park’s newest apartment by Clivedale & PLP Architecture

Photography & Words Nikki Hinton

With interior design inspiration by Jouin Manku and whilst the sale is pending, this design space is being used as a pop up members bar with grand piano, dining space and use of the outside area….with social distancing of course!

Clivedale asked me to take a selection of photographs to show the property as they were looking to sell the development now that it is complete.

Whilst the sale is pending the space is being used as a pop up members bar, with grand piano, dining and an outside area with ample seating.

This townhouse was developed with PLP an architectural firm based in London. The home was originally an office which maintained the original Georgian Facade, and Clivedale wanted to restore the space to its original use- a grand residential home.

Inside Mayfair Park Residences, Internationally renowned interior design practice Jouin Manku has drawn on historical references, blending them with custom designed features to create sumptuous interior spaces that are organic, elegant and evocative.

Clivedale has partnered with exceptional craftspeople and designers, such as Rosanna Kitchens who will be designing the bespoke leathered marble topped kitchens, to ensure apartments are finished to the highest standard of specification.

When shooting this property it was imperative to highlight the lighting features and open spiralling staircase which drew the eye in all the main areas of the home.

The living room had large windows letting in plenty of natural light so the challenge was to blend the temperatures and levels of all the sources.

Fortunately the lighting had different custom settings, and by keeping it on low and shooting at a slightly longer shutter speed it allowed a balance of the brightness of the two sources without over exposing the interior lights.

Downstairs in the kitchen and dining area there was a similar situation but with less natural light. I used the same technique, and also some tone correction in post processing so that everything was true to life in colour and brightness.

The outside space was a very long and narrow series of low arches. Each arched alcove had a different style of seating, the central alcove housed the bar.

To show the full space I took an angled shot down the arches showing the curved brickwork, and a number of shots of each alcove in different directions to give the client some variation in style.

I also took a series of detail shots to highlight the quality of the interior furnishings and fabrication.

One of my favourite projects to date, mainly due to the beautiful curving staircase and magnificent light feature on the back wall. I would love to revisit the property in the evening as I think it would create a fantastic ambiance.
