No. 1 Bruton & Osip Restaurant
Photography Emma Lewis & Pete Helme
A recent photoshoot for Frank & Faber and featured in House & Garden, take a look at the heavily anticipated No.1 Bruton & Osip Restaurant.
Emma was shooting No.1 Bruton and Osip restaurant for both the hotel and restaurant to use for its website and the interior designers Frank & Faber.
They were shooting this on the 21st December, the shortest day of the year. Not a good idea….no light! Also the builders were still on site, so there was a lot of working around them and making do with what there was available to style the shoot at that moment.
As is the way with shooting new venues that need images ready to go for their launch, you have to be able to work round these problems and do the best you can with what you have.
The owners of the hotel are wonderful people and this totally comes across in the vibe of the place, a relaxed boutique hotel with laid back rustic charm.
It is warm, friendly and cosy. This is also Emma’s home town so it was so lovely for her to be the one that got to photograph this beautiful hotel.
The restaurant was also a real pleasure to shoot. Merlin Labron-Johnson is a renowned chef and one of the youngest chef to gain a Michelin star in the country. His food is fresh and dynamic, clean and simple and completely delicious.
And his restaurant and style is just spot on in mirroring the ethos of the food. So for Emma to be able to go and capture some of this magic was really lovely for her.
Pete just so happened to spend one of the first nights at the hotel when treating his wife to her birthday surprise in late January 2020. A stay in the main double room in the house was a absolute pleasure topped off by eating dinner in the refined restaurant space below.
If you find yourself in the area this should definitely be on your bucket list, especially with the newly opened Newt Hotel and Hauser & Wirth art gallery right on your doorstep.
